Front of Property
This is a concept drawing for a new fountain that would be the main focal point outside the front picture window to the immediate left of the entry. The idea was to make it a "stop and gaze" element integrated into the overall design. We worked with an outside pool and fountain contractor to collaborate on the final installation inserting plants and decorative gravel after the foundation of the pond had been built based on our drawing.
The right garden flanking the main entry walk-way required a simple concept to give a big visual punch! A repeating pattern was created with an interesting plant, and adding a sexy lines of alternating gravel transforms a garden into an art-space.
The clients requested a very contemporary drought-resistant landscape as the house was very high in the hill and had a very dry climate.Repeating rows of echeveria, agave and decorative grass was installed in a more modern
An odd space that would normally have little use required a design solution that would be eye-appealing and functional. This saucer shaped bench/planter was imperative for this space giving the family another spot to fountain-gaze.
Back of House
The backyard pool area had an odd structure because of a state-owned run-off drainage system. The challenge here was to create order out of chaos; to create a contemporary "Palm Springs" theme on a relatively low budget. Keeping in mind how plants mature and grow in size was a key element to take into consideration as well.
