"Autumn Colors"

The homes along the Venice Canals carry a distinct sense of American charm - intimate, expressive, and quietly refined. This installation was created for a client within that setting, designed to reflect both the season and the character of the space.

The palette centers on sunflowers, selected in a range of yellows and deep autumnal oranges. Rather than relying on a single tone, the variation in color creates depth and movement across the composition, allowing the piece to feel layered rather than decorative.

A walk through the surrounding neighborhood informed the final direction. Branches of turning fall foliage were gathered and integrated into the arrangement, grounding the piece in its immediate environment and reinforcing a sense of place.

Dried grasses, subtly color-treated, introduce softness and vertical rhythm, while dried lotus pods add sculptural contrast - their organic geometry offering a counterpoint to the openness of the florals.

The result is a seasonal composition that feels both relaxed and considered - an expression of autumn that reflects not just the time of year, but the atmosphere of the home it was created for.

Each seasonal installation is shaped by its environment, with materials chosen to reflect both place and moment.
